Prescription drug misuse, especially of opioid pain killers, has become a rapidly growing problem throughout the US. In 2008 it surpassed motor vehicle accidents as a major cause of death among adults age 25-45, yet public awareness is still low. This infographic identifies the causes of death for this age group and breaks down the causes to identify prescription drug use as a major underlying factor. In doing so it raises awareness in the mind of the viewer with the eventual goal of leading to preventative actions.
